Thanks to a contribution of the City of Breda, we can work on the development of this new documentary film in the next six months. In it, we will be looking for the identity of the Indische community in Breda, together with a genealogical researcher. We will keep you posted on all the news regarding this new project!

Summer Trains Leading Nowhere is topical and recognisable. The short documentary film was shot at dozens of different locations in the Netherlands, just before the pandemic, in 2019. It shows a carefree world but something is about to happen....
Summer Trains Leading Nowhere can be seen at various film festivals worldwide. Check the Animæ Films website for up-to-date coverage.
We know what it is like to live in a country with a small film industry. The Netherlands is a small country with a very small film market. Although at the same time the Netherlands is the most beautiful country in the world, everyone knows that, but we cannot do without strong international partners. That is why we would like to tell stories together with international partners. We want to learn from our European friends, hang out with them and discover the world together. The Netherlands is a small country and we are a very small group of filmmakers. But thanks to our friends, we are all getting a bit bigger.
A lot has happened in recent years. It is almost impossible to comprehend. Good things but unfortunately also some not so good things. Yes, it has been quiet around Animæ Films and Andrew van der Ven Productions. But we did not stand still. Everything but that. We have thought long and hard and are now reinventing ourselves. Yes, that takes some time. But we will be back. With lots of new work, better and more beautiful than ever.
